Lewis places second in triple jump at national outdoor meet




All-American and former Hampton University standout Yvette Lewis placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.59 meters at the U.S. outdoor track and field championships in Indianapolis. The Menchville High graduate continues competition today in the first round of the 100-meter hurdles, going head-to-head with former HU teammate Kellie Wells.

Also, HU's Andrew Peresta will compete in today's 400-meter hurdles final after qualifying in 50.22. The fastest qualifier was former HU athlete James Cater, who posted a time of 49.07.
