Savannah, Ga. -- The Savannah State Lady Tigers was one of 25 teams to make the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I 2006-07 Most Improved Women's Basketball Teams list.

Under head coach Cedric Baker, the Lady Tigers finished the 2006-07 season 12-17. A 7.5 win improvement.

The list consist of 25 Division I teams who have improved their 2006-07 win records from 7.5 to 12.5 games.

Baker is happy with the team's improvement but feels the Lady Tigers have to continue to work hard.

"Improvement is truly important. But most importantly, it sets the stage for new accomplishments and positive growth for the upcoming season," Coach Baker said.

To determine the games improved, the NCAA added the difference in victories between the two seasons to the difference in losses, and then divided by two. (Includes postseason)
