Stillman coach is watching for signs of improvement

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama | Head coach Teddy Keaton and his staff produced a winner in their first season with the Stillman College football team.

The Tigers finished at 7-4 overall, 5-2 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Stillman was a contender in the West Division until it lost to Miles (9-7) on Oct. 27. The season ended with a loss to Concordia (12-7).

Keaton and his assistants were able to stress winning when they recruited in the winter, and help is on the way. But Keaton said spring training offered an opportunity for the current players to improve.

Keaton will be watching for signs of progress in today’s spring game, which pits the defense against the offense in a controlled scrimmage. Dedrick Dodge, the defensive coordinator, will direct the defensive unit. Offensive coordinator James Johnson will be in charge of the offense.
