Lane College Jones lights up 49ers for 290 yards

JACKSON, Tennessee  --  Joe Flacco may have won the MVP award in the Super Bowl XLVII but, the Ravens wide receiver/return specialists Jacoby Jones had the better game.

Even Sports Illustrated seemed to think so as well, for they decided to place Jones on the cover of its magazine this week instead of Joe Cool.

But, we really shouldn’t be surprised with Joe Flacco winning the Super Bowl MVP.

Why? Because, we know the NFL is a quarterback driven league.

However, no one can deny the fact that Jones’ electrifying 108 yard kick-off return for a touchdown, which is a Super Bowl Record, was the most memorable play of the game.

Jones, in fact, had 290 all-purpose yards during the Super Bowl, which also is a new Super Bowl record for total yardage.

Along with his 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, Jones also had a 56-yard touchdown catch over 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver, which was the longest play allowed by the 49ers’ defense this season.
