WSSU signs football class of 11

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina  --  Sitting around a table in an office at the Bowman Gray Stadium fieldhouse on Monday, Winston-Salem State’s football coaches seemed pleased with their recruiting class.


Coach Connell Maynor also was impressed with the work he and his assistants did in assembling the class of 11, all of them high-school players. 

“We addressed a lot of areas,” Maynor said. “When you win a lot like we’ve been doing, you get a lot of calls about kids who folks think can help us. So it’s a lot of work to kind of sort through who we want and who can help us.”
 
Assistant John Eder, also the recruiting coordinator, said the recent success the Rams have had — a 35-4 record over three seasons and two straight CIAA titles — keeps his email box full.
