BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has selected Felix Kiprop (Mississippi Valley State) and ShaNiece Pinkston (Southern) as SWAC Runners of the Week for October 1.
Kiprop finished 31st in the men’s 8K to lead MVSU at the Rhodes College Invite. He clocked in with a time of 27:30 for the Delta Devils. The senior runner, and native of Nairobi, Kenya, is receiving the weekly honor for the first time this season.

Pinkston competed at the at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede. She finished with a time of 19:52.19in the 5K race. Her time placed her 19th out of 35 runners. Pinkston is a senior from Detroit, Michigan.
