South Alabama's Jerry Mack to be named N.C. Central head coach, according to report

MOBILE, Alabama -- South Alabama receivers coach Jerry Mack will be named the head coach at North Carolina Central University, www.coachingsearch.com is reporting.

Mack just completed his second season as receivers coach for the Jaguars.
 
This would be Mack's first head coaching stint. In a telephone interview with Alabama Media Group recently, Mack confirmed he was a candidate for the position.
 
South Alabama head coach Joey Jones told AMG today he expects Mack to be named the school's head coach.
 
The former Arkansas State receiver has been an assistant coach at Delta State, Jackson State, Central Arkansas, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Memphis prior to arriving in Mobile.
