NCCU flips the script on S.C. State

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The deck stacked against them, the N.C. Central Eagles dealt last year’s co-champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference a taste of their own medicine during a 48-35 road win at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium on Saturday.

S.C. State had been getting low-scoring wins by running for 210 yards a game and doing an even better job of keep other teams from gaining much ground, limiting the opposition to 138 rushing yards per game.

The Eagles didn’t care about any of that.

“I felt as a rushing offense, we had to make a statement,” NCCU running back Andre Clarke said.
