Morgan State signs Williston State guard/forward Phil Carr

WILLISTON, North Dakota – Williston State transfer Phil Carr has signed to play for Morgan State University.

MSU head coach Todd Bozeman announced the signing of the forward on Wednesday.

A 6-foot-7, 190-pound guard/forward transferred from Williston State and will be a sophomore on the court and a junior in the classroom.

Prior to Williston State, Carr averaged 8.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and shot 57 percent from the field at Mohawk Valley Community College. He also shot 33 percent from beyond the arc to help lead the Hawks to a 24-6 record last season.

Bozeman says he likes Carr's versatility and scoring ability.

Carr graduated from Transit Tech High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Morgan State head coach Todd Bozeman has led the Bears to NCAA appearances in 2009 and 2010. MSU has won three MEAC Tournaments (1977, 2009 & 2010) and has made six championship appearances in nine seasons under Coach Bozeman.
