Fayetteville, North Carolina -- The Fayetteville State University football team routed The Lincoln University 49-17 in the cross-divisional CIAA matchup held Saturday, October 3rd at Luther “Nick” Jeralds Stadium. FSU improves to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in conference; while the Lions fall to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the CIAA.

Despite the big lead, the Broncos were outscored 14-0 in the third quarter. Stephen Scott scored the Lions first TD from one yard away midway through the third. Brett Arkelian intercepted a bobbled FSU pass and returned it 20 yards for another quick touchdown. However, the scoring ended there for Lincoln.

Bryant threw a 78 yard TD strike to senior wide receiver Tavon Gatlin (Virginia Beach, VA); then connected with Chris Hubert (Apex, NC) for a 44 yard touchdown.
