UAPB men look to rebound against Alabama A&M

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas -- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff men should be expected to enter Saturday’s game at Alabama A&M with something to prove given how close the Golden Lions came to opening the Southwestern Athletic Conference season with a victory in its previous outing at Mississippi Valley State.

If the expectation is for the Lions (2-13, 0-1) to come out fired up, the Bulldogs (4-7, 0-2) should be expected to enter with a take-no-prisoners attitude. That’s what happens when a team loses its first two league games by a combined four points. A SWAC-opening 81-78 overtime loss at Grambling State was followed up by a 67-66 defeat at Jackson State.

One play here and there and Alabama A&M is sitting joint-top of the conference with Texas Southern. Instead, the Bulldogs are joint-bottom of the standings with Southern and Alabama State.
