Hampton University's men's basketball team has established itself among the handful of teams vying for control of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference race. The Pirates (13-7, 7-1 MEAC) face another challenge when they play at Delaware State (8-12, 5-3) Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPN2.
Winning road games at Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T left HU, which doesn't play at home again until Feb. 16, a half game behind first place Morgan State. HU's turnovers and poor free throw shooting have allowed some opponents to keep games close.
