Southern getting ready for final week of spring football practice

Southern heads into its final week of spring practice, going Tuesday and Thursday and then finishing with the Blue and Gold Spring Game at 3 p.m. Saturday at A.W. Mumford Stadium.

The Jaguars concluded their third week of four practices with a workout in shoulder pads and helmets on a breezy, early Saturday afternoon. “We wanted to look at the down-the-line guys, trying to get them in a position they can get to the scrimmage and have a chance to get at least play a few plays in the scrimmage (Saturday),” Southern coach Pete Richardson said. “We’re trying to sharpen up on each side of the ball.
