KENT, Ohio -- Delaware State entertained thoughts of revenge Saturday in returning to the scene of its only regular-season loss of 2007. A second chance to play a Division I-A program like Kent State offered the Hornets another opportunity to test and improve themselves heading into conference play. Even after watching his team's sloppy 24-3 loss Saturday afternoon at Dix Stadium, Delaware State coach Al Lavan was convinced his players would benefit from another visit to Kent."They did last year," Lavan said. "What we have to take from coming in to play this level of football [against] this number of good players is this -- we have to be significantly better the next time we play. And I think we will be for having played this type of team and experiencing the adversity we experienced. Now, we have to overcome it and go play at a higher level."
