Miles College celebrates championship with parade

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama --It was a parade in downtown Birmingham that Miles College football fans have been waiting for some time. Today the school celebrated it's first ever SIAC football championship.

"I'm so proud and blessed. I'm so elated that Miles College one of my favorites, has made it," Evelyn Toney, a Miles fan, said. Many of these supporters have suffered through a number of losing seasons backing the Golden Bears.



"It means a lot. It's been years. One and nothing. One and eleven. Now we are seven and four and the championship, it means a lot," Reed Jesse, a Miles fan, said.

First year coach Reginal Ruffin turned the football team into a championship squad. The coach had confidence in his players.
