TSU's rally falls short in SWAC tournament final

GARLAND, Texas -- Texas Southern was the top defensive team in the Southwestern Athletic Conference during the regular season, but in the conference tournament championship game Saturday night, its opponent, Mississippi Valley State, was the best defensive team on the floor.

TSU received a game-high 30 points from junior guard Omar Strong, who went 8-of-15 from 3-point range, and 10 from reserve guard Dexter Ellington.
