WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - Those wondering if coach Connell Maynor of Winston-Salem State would tone down his act in front of television cameras don't know him very well.
When asked Wednesday at a news conference about the Rams' chances of winning against UNC Pembroke at home on Saturday in their opener, Maynor was frank — maybe too frank.
"I think we'll win by two touchdowns," Maynor said about the ninth-ranked Rams, who are coming off a school-best 13-1 record.
"If you ask me I'm going to tell you. I know we got better and I don't know if (UNC Pembroke) has gotten better, but I think we can win by two touchdowns."
So there you have it, the Rams are not shying away from the high expectations or their goal of winning the Division II national championship.
