A&T's defense dominant again in win

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Giving up a turnover and a score early in the game didn’t stop N.C. A&T from rolling to a 40-7 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg on Saturday night at Aggie Stadium.

After a pick-six and the conversion kick cut the Aggies’ lead to 14-7, quarterback Lewis Kindle directed a scoring drive that only took 1:08 and concluded with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Marquis Graham.

That was all the momentum A&T needed as the Aggies went on to score another touchdown and a field goal and take a 31-7 halftime lead.

“We have a saying that, ‘If something good happens, keep playing. If something bad happens keep playing,’ ” coach Rod Broadway said. “You’re going to give up some plays. We’ve just got to respond, and we came right back and answered. That was a positive for our side. It was a hard-fought and good win.”
