TUSKEGEE, Alabama -- It's sunny and beautiful at Cleve Abbott Memorial Stadium for Tuskegee's home opener against Lane College (Tenn.). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.The Golden Tigers are coming into this contest with a 1-1 record. They defeated Johnson C. Smith (N.C.) 35-17 in the Inner-City Classic in Atlanta last week, following a tough 7-6 loss to Alabama A&M at legion Field to start the season.
Missouri transfer running back Derrick Washington had a breakout performance in his team's first win. The 6-foot, 215-pounder rushed for 155 yards on 17 carries to earn game MVP honors.
Lane is also 1-1. The Dragons started their season with a 45-28 win against Edward Waters College (Fla.) before falling 20-17 to Clark Atlanta.
