Recruiting: Jackson State coach Comegy on hunt for several more linemen

JACKSON, Mississippi  --  With National Signing Day hours away, Jackson State coaches are putting the finishing touches on a 2013 class they hope can make an immediate impact.

Coming off of last season’s SWAC championship game appearance, JSU entered the off-season with several positions in need of an influx of talent.

At the top of that list — linemen.

JSU coach Rick Comegy said his staff plans on signing “18 to 20” players Wednesday. That number leaves little room for error or misses in the staff’s evaluation process.

JSU had just two such players committed as of last week in Cornelius Henderson, a offensive lineman/defensive line prospect from Duncanville, Texas, and Javancy Jones, a defensive end/linebacker from Noxubee County.

Jackson State picked up another commitment Monday in defensive end/tight end Ronald Fuller out of Blinn Community College in Texas.
