Former Tuskegee RB Derrick Washington garnering interest from NFL's Chiefs, Patriots

TUSKEGEE, Alabama -- Former Tuskegee running back Derrick Washington did more in one season than many have in four.

Now, the 2012 Southern Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Player of the Year, is busy trying to extend his career on the gridiron. According to several reports, the Raymore, Mo. native and Missouri transfer is working out for the Kansas City Chiefs and has already worked out for the New England Patriots.

Washington, a 6-foot-, 215-pounder, rushed for 1,679 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a 10-2 record and a conference championship on his way to a being named a finalist for the Harlon Hill trophy award, the Division II equivalent to ...
