Holmes, FAMU staff teach, explain nuances of football
TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- Saundra Brown isn’t your average female football fan.
“My boys played football and my dad was a football coach so I’ve been around football,” said Brown, whose son, Barry, played linebacker for the FAMU football team more than 15 years ago.
On Saturday, Brown got a refresher on the nuances of the game. But for the 50 or so other women who attended coach Earl Holmes’ “Heels and Helmet” crash course on football, it was their first glimpse inside the game.
