CIAA coaches pick WSSU Rams to win 3rd straight title

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina  --  Winston-Salem State is the popular pick to win a third straight CIAA football championship.         

A coaches poll released Thursday during the CIAA Football Round-Up at WSSU had the Rams first overall and first in the Southern Division. Elizabeth City State (8-4, 6-1 last season) was picked to finish second overall and first in the Northern Division.

WSSU went 10-0 during the 2012 regular season and defeated Elizabeth City State 34-19 to win its second straight CIAA championship game. The Rams rolled through the first three rounds of the Division II playoffs before losing to Valdosta State 35-7 in the national-championship game.
