FAMU Rattlers get head start with voluntary passing drills

TALLAHASSEE, Florida  --  What was supposed to be a 7-on-7 workout for a handful of defensive players, quarterbacks and receivers turned into a session that had the feel of a full-fledged practice for the FAMU football team late Wednesday afternoon.

Almost every player on FAMU’s defense was there. And on offense, receivers, tight ends, running backs ... and, yes, offensive linemen showed up.

“It’s basically a fun day,” said junior quarterback Damien Fleming. “We get to see who has been in their playbooks and who has been working out while they were home. It’s exciting for me because I want to see what talent the guys bring and work with the chemistry from the guys who are coming back.”
