TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- During his 21 years as a Florida State assistant, Jamey Shouppe probably thought about this moment countless times.
What would he say during his first press conference as a Division-I head baseball coach?
Would he make promises about his players being true student-athletes? Would he pledge to bring ample supplies of innovation and hard work to the job? Would he pay respect to his new school’s tradition while also vowing there would be better days ahead?
Would he deliver messages that would be inspirational but also realistic?
