WSSU’s Carrothers says he’s on the mend after shoulder surgery

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina  --  Anthony Carrothers, the expected starting quarterback at Winston-Salem State, has that bounce back in his step.

Carrothers, who went 2-0 in a backup role last season, underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder on April 24. The surgery was performed on his non-throwing shoulder — but he still was forced to take some time away from football.
                 

“It feels good to throw again,” Carrothers said earlier this week in between workouts during a break from summer school. “I just want to get in that groove again and I’ve been throwing to my guys about three or four times a week.”
