GRAMBLING, Louisiana -- With virtually an entire new front seven and a new defensive coordinator, Grambling’s defense had plenty of questions going into Saturday’s season opener against Alabama A&M.For the most part, the Tigers swarmed to the ball and held up under crushing field position circumstances in a 23-9 loss.
Six of the Bulldogs’ possessions started either in GSU territory or, at worst, the A&M 45-yard line. The Bulldogs scored two first-half touchdowns from those circumstances before starting the second half with a 78-yard touchdown drive.
