MEAC teams fighting for wins

TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- With just three wins and one game remaining, FAMU will definitely finish the season with a losing record.

But FAMU fans can take solace – if any football fan can ever do that – in knowing that they aren’t alone when it comes to the rest of the MEAC. Going into Saturday’s games, only three of the 11 teams had winning records.

Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State have been runaways as leaders in the standing with the best win-loss records. The Wildcats started the day at 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference. The Bulldogs have an identical mark in the league and they are 7-3 overall.

Saturday’s win by Delaware State over FAMU gives the Hornets a 5-5 overall record. They improved to 5-2 in conference play.
