Miles College has four-game win streak snapped in 17-14 SIAC title game loss to Albany State

ATLANTA, Georgia  -- It just didn't end the way they wanted it to.

Miles College could've put a punctuating mark on what had been a particularly rewarding and equally as challenging 2013 football season. Instead, the Golden Bears fell 17-14 against Albany State (Ga.) in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic championship game at Lakewood Stadium Saturday night.

The loss snapped a four-game Golden Bears win streak and was just their second loss in their last eight contests  after starting out the season 1-2 to complete a remarkable run to their second league title game in three seasons under coach Reginald Ruffin.

Miles battled back from an early 7-0 deficit scoring 14-straight on a pair of second-quarter touchdowns to take the lead for and tried to hold on for dear life in the second half but couldn't ward off an Albany State team, which had scored 19 unanswered against Fort Valley State (Ga.) last week to reach the conference championship game.
