JACKSON, Mississippi -- Jackson State University will replace head football Coach Rick Comegy, the university announced today.
A search for Comegy’s successor will begin immediately, JSU Director of Athletics Vivian L. Fuller said.
“We are grateful to Coach Comegy and his staff for their service to Jackson State,” Fuller said. “We appreciate the work he has done with JSU athletics and we wish him well.”
Comegy was 55-35 in eight seasons at JSU.
Eric D. Stringfellow, JSU’s director of University Communications, will be available to answer questions at 2 p.m. today. His office is located on the second floor of the H. P. Jacobs Administration Tower on the JSU Campus.
