HUNTSVILLE, Alabama  -- A source has confirmed to Alabama Media Group that former Texas A&M football assistant Bryan Cummings has joined new Alabama A&M coach James Spady's staff.

Cummings spent one year in College Station in 2013 as a quality control special teams assistant as the Aggies went 9-4 and beat ACC runner-up Duke in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

He'll coach special teams as well as the defensive line under Spady, a first-time head coach and former Nevada assistant.

A Cincinnati native, Cummings played linebacker at Buffalo (N.Y.).
