TALLAHASSEE, Florida  --  Can the FAMU Rattlers go 2-0? On Saturday night the Rattlers defeated a Coppin State team that is coached by the legendary Fang Mitchell. For those who have been around as long as he has, we were waiting on him to take off his jacket and loosen his tie. Like the days of Grambling’s Eddie Robinson in football, that is when you know he means business. Mitchell didn’t take his jacket off or loosen his tie, but he did something else we’re used to seeing. He raised his voice particularly when Reggie Lewis or Jamie Adams were left open to make a three point basket. That happened all night.

In games the Rattlers have loss since conference play started, the majority of the losses have been due to an anemic offense. Both the Rattler players and coaches have been trying to figure out how to get open shots. It’s not that the shots haven’t been falling, rather other teams have figured out ways to shut down Lewis and Adams and force someone else to win the game. Not so on this night.
