Texas Southern LadyTigers take a 6-4 win over Sam Houston State at Memorial Park

HOUSTON, Texas  --  Texas Southern third baseman Anisha Richardson blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to power the Tigers to a 6-4 non-conference softball victory over Sam Houston Wednesday evening at Memorial Park.

The home run broke a 3-3 tie. The victory runs TSU's season mark to 24-16 and Sam Houston now stands 24-21. Texas Southern out-hit Sam Houston 6-4 as the Bearkats also committed three errors.

Texas Southern starting pitcher Alaina Stubblefield was credited with the win while Sammantha Jimenez entered the game in relief picking up the save.

Texas Southern will play a three-game series with Southern University this upcoming weekend on Friday and Saturday. TSU and SU will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday and at 12:00 pm on Saturday. The Lady Tigers wrapped up the Western Division last weekend with a sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
