JACKSON, Mississippi -- Jackson State reported an increase in total revenues for 2013, which is its second highest in eight years.According to data collected by USA Today, JSU received $6,411,728, up about $500,000 from 2012 and the most since 2011 ($6,909,322).
The university saw increases in ticket sales, school funds and "other," and decreases in rights/licensing, student fees and school funds.
It also reported the same amount in total expenses, leaving it with no profit for 2013. Jackson State's biggest expense came from coaching/staff, spending $3,213,168, the most its spent in that category. (USA Today shows data collected since 2005).
