PEACH STATE PIGSKIN PREVIEW: FVSU restocking with returnees

MACON, Georgia  -- Each summer, Fort Valley State opens practice without a number of underclassmen who played the season before but, for a variety of reasons, aren’t suiting up that fall.
And in many cases, they’re back in uniform in a year or two.

That’s the case again this season, and just in time, as far as Keith DeGrate is concerned.

He filled in Tuesday for head coach Donald Pittman, who was out of town, and said three key players who should be back on the field this fall are running backs Seth Hill, Germaine Tate and Travis Richmond.

Hill went out with a season-ending knee injury in the opener against Valdosta State. Tate and Richmond, the former Peach County standout, sat out 2013 for different reasons, primarily academic oriented.
