Prairie View sweeps Grambling men, women

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- The Grambling State women’s basketball team lost its second consecutive game on Monday night, falling 85-57 to Prairie View.

Prairie View built a 46-26 halftime lead. Grambling never got closer than 16 points in the final 20 minutes.

Grambling (5-12, 2-4) was led by Mariah Gilliam with 12 points. Klintisha Martin added 11 points and Kiana Jones had 10 for the Lady Tigers.

Prairie View, meanwhile, had four players score in double figures. Alexus Parker led the Panthers with 18 points. Jeanette Jackson added 15, Shamiya Brooks had 13 points and Monique Abbs had 10.

Prairie View (6-11, 3-2) enjoyed a hot shooting night from the floor as the Panthers made 50.7 percent of their field goal attempts.
