This year, not only did Fobbs and his staff have a full year to seek out potential Tigers, they also benefitted from a rebound 7-5 year that resulted in Fobbs being selected as the SWAC Coach of the Year.

Grambling signed 24 players on Wednesday in what Fobbs called his "first true class."

"We were able to stretch ourselves a little bit and get to some areas we weren't able to get to in year 1," Fobbs said Wednesday. "This year, everyone really did a good job of hitting their areas in the state of Louisiana and also getting to the out-of-state areas and solidifying this class."
