BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- For the second straight week, inclement weather in the weekend forecast has forced Southern University baseball to alter its upcoming three-game series against South Dakota State at Lee-Hines Field on the Baton Rouge campus.

The Jaguars will open a three-games series against the Jackrabbits Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. before concluding the non conference series with a 11 a.m. doubleheader Saturday morning.

Southern dropped a 11-3 midweek affair at Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night in which the Jaguars used nine pitchers, scattered eight hits and stranded six baserunner.

Thursday's series modification represents a growing trend around the country and much of the South region.

Frigid temperatures in the South Louisiana region halted the Jaguars previous two midweek, non-conference games scheduled while rain forces its SWAC home-opener against Prairie View to move to a Friday-Saturday series from the tradition weekend slate.

Baseball single game tickets are $5, doubleheader tickets are $8 and both are available for purchase at the Southern University ticket office located inside the service entrance of the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

Tickets are also available on game day at the ticket booth outside Lee-Hines Field.
