SAN MARCOS, Texas — Five student-athletes from Xavier University of Louisiana produced season bests Friday in the Bobcat Invitational track and field meet.
The Gold Rush got season bests from Chris Adams in the 400-meter hurdles (58.63 seconds, 18th place) and Christopher August in the 1,500 (4:11.93, 28th). The Gold Nuggets' season bests came from Kailey Williams (12.66, 35th) and Destini Thomas (12.96, 42nd) in the 100 and Clarke Allen (59.20, 36th) in the 400.
Freshman Joseph Moses III had Xavier's highest finish, 13th in the men's 100 (11.10). Catherine Fakler was 17th in the women's 5,000 (18:54.34) and 20th in the 1,500 (4:58.78).
The meet will conclude Saturday. Field events will begin at 9 a.m., and track events will start at 2 p.m. The final event, the men's 1,600 relay, is scheduled for 4:40 p.m.
