Spring Hill pitcher Caroline Sagrega no hits Tuskegee in softball win

MOBILE, Alabama -- The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball won a 4-0 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) decision from the Tuskegee on Saturday afternoon at Murray Field in Mobile as junior Caroline Sagrera threw her seventh career no-hitter, coming one error away from a perfect game.

Sagrera struck out 11 batters and allowed just one Tuskegee base runner off an infield error in the 4th inning to record the 76-pitch no-no and improve her record to 23-6 on the season.

Tuskegee (8-19, 6-9 SIAC West) starter Morgan Burrell did her best to match Sagrera's effort and allowed just two hits and four Badgers on base over the first four innings, but two infield errors behind her in the 5th inning led to four Spring Hill runs as senior shortstop Shea Blanchard provided the game's big hit with a three-run double to left with one out.

Burrell went the distance in the loss giving up just three hits and four walks with no strikeouts.
