WSSU future schedules are complete

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- It will be a lot easier to see the Winston-Salem State Rams football team play next season.

The Rams, who are on the road for their first four games this season, will have two new opponents for their nonconference schedule in 2016.

Tonia Walker, WSSU’s athletic director, said the Rams will open at home against UNC Pembroke in 2016, then play at Catawba, before playing another home game against Virginia Union in a designated nonconference game.

“We have renewed our agreement with Catawba so we’re excited about that,” Walker said.

Catawba and WSSU have played four times before in 1998, ’99 and again in 2005 and ’06. Catawba owns a 4-0 advantage in the series.
