A&T turns to two freshmen QBs with MEAC title on line
GREENSBORO, North Carolina — There’s a conference title at stake Saturday when N.C. A&T hosts the annual Aggie-Eagle Classic.
And the Aggies (9-1, 7-0 MEAC) will go without their senior quarterback in the regular-season football finale, turning the offense over to a pair of freshmen.
Kwashaun Quick, the only quarterback in school history with more than 2,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a career, has been nursing a knee injury and appears unlikely to play against rival N.C. Central (7-3, 6-1).
“Yes. He’s out,” A&T coach Rod Broadway said. “I don’t know if he’ll be ready this weekend or not, but he couldn’t do much Saturday and he couldn’t do anything the Saturday before. We’ll see what kind of progress he makes this week, but we don’t expect him to be ready.”
