Spady: This year's AAMU signing class 'best since I've been here'

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Calling this year's signing class, "the best since I've been here," Alabama A&M Head Coach James Spady spoke to a packed room of fans, alums and news media at Wednesday's National Signing Day party and reception. The event was held in the Clyde Foster School of Business multipurpose room on the Alabama A&M campus.

The Bulldogs announced 14 signees Wednesday as well as eight mid-year signees, who are already attending classes this semester.

"This is an excellent recruiting class," Spady said. "Certainly, the best since I've been here.

"We are so excited about the potential … potential is unused ability."

Spady introduced recruiting coordinator Clifton Herbert and thanked his staff and their families for the sacrifices they made "to sell Alabama A&M."

"I'll put you guys up against anybody in the country right now," he said. "We've reached way above our means to get this class."

Spady also stressed that the recruiting work continues.

"We won't be done just because we've announced this class tonight," he said.
