BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- Southern University Athletics will introduce Sean Woods as the new head men’s basketball coach during a press conference scheduled for Thursday, April 12 at 1 p.m.

Woods, who served as the assistant coach at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, last season, won the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships as the head coach at Mississippi Valley State in 2012.

After leaving Mississippi Valley in 2012, Woods became the head coach at Morehead State University, where he compiled a 77-70 record in five seasons.

Woods starred collegiately at Kentucky from 1988-1992 and was a member of the Wildcats senior-laden cast known as the “Unforgettables.”
