Broderick Fobbs encouraged by Grambling's depth

Grambling Tigers '47 NCAA '47 CLEAN UP CapGRAMBLING, Louisiana -- All sides of the ball were on display at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium Friday night as Grambling State begins their journey for a three-peat as SWAC Champions.

The high profile names on offense like quarterback DeVante Kincade and running back Martez Carter no longer roam the sidelines, but head coach Broderick Fobbs believes GSU has plenty of talent to compete with anybody this season.

"We lost more the year before last than this past year, but we lost two significant guys. We lost a quarterback that's an All-American and a running back that's an All-American, but if you really look at our team last year we replaced our entire receiver corps and then we replace four out of five offensive linemen.

"So this year, you're really just replacing two guys, but those two guys were very significant for you so it's not a matter of us replacing a lot more, I think it's replacing and trying to do things by committee."
