Grambling State Completes Final Scrimmage of Fall Camp

GRAMBLING, Louisiana -- The Grambling State University football team concluded its final scrimmage of Fall Camp on Saturday night under the lights at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers spent the last two weeks in preparation for Sept. 1 when GSU visits Louisiana in Lafayette, La. The Black and Gold predominately practiced under the lights as the first three games will be played after 5 p.m. Grambling State spent just two practices under the intense heat during fall camp, with morning practices on the two Thursday's.

Grambling State returns 14 starters from last season's Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship season, but with the addition of a promising recruiting class, a handful of transfers and returning players with significant playing time from last season, the Tigers enter the season hungry and with a lot of momentum.

The Tigers begin the 2018 season in Lafayette, La. with their first-ever meeting against Louisiana. After a trip to Cajun Field, the Black and Gold visit Northwestern State on Sept. 8, before having the first of two open weeks on Sept. 15. After the open week, the Tigers will have their 2018 home opener on Sept. 22 against Alabama State at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium.
