#13 Langston Knocks Off SAGU 35-20

News PhotoLANGSTON, Oklahoma -- A second half surge by the No. 13 Langston Lions turned the tide as the Lions held off the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions 35-20 Saturday night at W.E. Anderson Stadium.

After trailing 6-0 at halftime, the Lions kicked into high gear in the third quarter when Jaylen Lowe tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Daylon Person and scored two drives later on a 23-yard run to put Langston in front 14-13.

On the following drive the Lions went right back to work when Lowe hit Michael Andrade for a 62-yard touchdown to pad their lead at 21-13 with 10:54 remaining. Langston closed the game out with two more scores, the first a 45-yard run by Cameron Booty and the final score coming on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Lowe to Michael Colston.

Lowe finished 17-for-27 for 296 yards and three touchdowns; he racked up 43 yards on 10 carries with one score. Booty led the ground game with 125 yards on 15 carries with one score.

Isaiah Shaputis led the aerial attack with six receptions for 57 yards; Andrade and Colston's touchdown receptions for 62 and 64 yards respectively were the lone catches for the duo.

Langston (2-1, 2-0) hosts Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Wayland Baptist next Saturday at 2 p.m.
