JCSU places fourth at Black College Hall of Fame Round-up

NEWNAN, Georgia  – Johnson C. Smith University finished fourth among Division II teams in the HBCU College Hall of Fame Round-up at the Summer Grove Golf Club in Newnan, Ga., over the weekend.

The Golden Bulls finished the two-day event with a team total of 666 on the par 72, 6,954-yard course.

Miles College won the event with a 607 score followed by Livingstone College with a 628 score and St. Augustine's (661). Lemoyne-Owen College placed fifth with a 669, Paine College finished sixth with a 745 and Morehouse College was seventh with a 751.

JCSU's DeJuan Powell (153) tied for fourth in the individual standings. Tyler Jolly (167) finished tied for 18th.

Other JCSU participants include Glen Canty (171 - T24th), Jonathan Pankey (176 - 27th), Miles Moore (180 - 29th) and Aaron Allen (186 - 33rd)

Timothy Simpson of Miles shot a 145 two-day score to win the tournament. Tyler Simmons of Miles placed second (149) and Chandler Holcomb of Miles was third (152).
