The starting halfback for the Jets during this era was Emerson Boozer, a Maryland State College (now, University of Maryland Eastern Shore) 2x All-American that lead the AFL in touchdown in 1967. Yes, UMES did have a powerhouse football program from 1946-1970. This is a black excellence story for another day.
