Hilltoppers headed to Dayton, will play MVSU

DAYTON, Ohio -- Western Kentucky already knew it was dancing, now it knows which ballroom it'll be performing in.

The Hilltoppers (15-18) learned today they'll be playing Mississippi Valley State (21-12) at on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio as a 16 seed in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Delta Devils are champions of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The winner will play No.1 overall seed Kentucky in Louisville.

An estimated 1,400 fans of the team arrived at E.A. Diddle this afternoon to watch a national broadcast on the NCAA's Selection Show broadcast live by CBS.

The run was capped by a 74-70 win over North Texas on Tuesday night in the championship game. The Hilltoppers overcame second-half deficits in each of the four victories, including coming back from 13 down against the Mean Green en route to their eighth Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship.
